Meet The Team
Dunyā is run by a team of editors, social media and creative members, lead designers, and a web content manager. Our aim, as a team of people from many cultural origins, is to showcase people-focused articles that illustrate the variety of the human experience in Britain, and to highlight unheard voices that are often disregarded by the mainstream media.
EDITOR
Mansi Vithlani
Retaining my identity is of utmost importance to me, with my ancestral heritage allowing me to become the person I am today. I hope Dunyā offers you a sense of belonging, a place to call home, it nurtures you, and it provides you with cultural roots.
LEAD DESIGNER
Claudia-Gabriela Scuturici
I was born and raised in Romania, moving to London in 2019. Growing up surrounded by multiple cultures has influenced me and helped me become the person I am today. What connects me with my culture is fashion, music, and food and I hope Dunyā will help you embrace who you are.
SUB-EDITOR
Eleana Ntagia
I grew up seeing my parents work hard to build a better future for my brother and I. Through music and food in particular, I am reminded that I should be proud of my origins. I believe Dunyā can help you embrace your self-identity and that of others.
PICTURES EDITOR
Israel Campos
As an immigrant in the UK, I decided to share my experience as a black African man trying to fit into British society. Challenges, identity crises and everyday life are elements that I use, through Dunyā, to explore the big concerns of immigrants living in the UK.
FEATURES EDITOR
Jubida Begum
As a child of British-Bangladeshi immigrants, I have learnt about the struggles of my parents in the Bangladesh Liberation War and facing racism in Britain. Through Dunyā’s work, we aim for you to be proud of the diversity of the different cultures that coexist in Britain, in the same way that my parents remained proud.
WEB CONTENT MANAGER
Nicolas Ng
As a Singaporean who has taken multiculturalism as a fact of life, I believe that exposure to different cultures is an enriching experience, opening your eyes to various ways of existence. As Dunyā’s web content manager, I have prioritised an online experience that would appeal to people of all ages.
